Objectives:
The project seeks to equip children with practical skills and knowledge related to water, sustainable energy and the balance of protecting and using natural resources, enabling them to become actively engaged in solving environmental problems.
To raise awareness about environmental issues and the importance of sustainability among children: The project seeks to engage children and provide them with knowledge about topics such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and resource conservation. The goal is to foster a sense of responsibility and empower children to become advocates for the environment.
To promote the integration of E-STEM training and share knowledge and experiences related to environmental sustainability: The project aims to develop and provide trainers with resources, training materials and curriculum modules that emphasize the connection between environmental sustainability and STEM subjects.
To highlight the Project's outputs, such as the establishment of Innovative Environmental Training Centers, the development of E-STEM modules and environment & science festivals.

Partners
The Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme is a program that promotes cross- border cooperation among countries in the Black Sea Basin. Funded by the European Union, this program develops projects in areas such as environmental sustainability, economic development, and cultural and social integration. Its goals include protecting nature and biodiversity, reducing pollution, developing green infrastructure, and combating climate change.
Within the framework of this program, EcosySTEM focus directly on environmental education, sustainable development, and enhancing the environmental awareness of younger generations. By strengthening the sharing of knowledge and resources among the countries bordering the Black Sea, the program enables the development of joint solutions to the region’s environmental and economic challenges.
Results:

Improved Environmental Literacy Among Children :

300 children per partner will learn about ecosystems, biodiversity, and sustainability.

6 E-STEM modules will connect science, technology, and environmental issues.

Pre- and post-assessments will measure literacy improvements for 240 children.

Increased Community Engagement in Environmental Issues:

At least 100 people will participate in each of the 4 environmental festivals.

80 children’s projects will be showcased at the festivals.

12 projects developed by children will be presented in the international festival in Greece.

Development of Critical 21st Century Skills:

12 hours of design thinking training for 300 children will improve problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity.

Sustainable E-STEM Education Framework:

A replicable curriculum will be developed for 5 partner regions.

Partnerships with education authorities in 5 regions will support integration into schools.

IDEA Universal: Leads project management, coordinates activities, develops the E-STEM curriculum, organizes training, and ensures implementation.
UABSC: Manages training centers, leveraging their network to engage education authorities and allocate students.
DUTH: Contributes academic expertise to monitor, revise E-STEM modules, and support local trainers scientifically.
